La chaîne publique allemande ZDF Kultur rediffusera le jeudi 9 août à 17H55 les meilleurs moments (environ 60 minutes) du concert de Saxon au Wacken 2012. ZDF Kultur est visible sur Astra et Canalsat (chaine 413) ou bien sur internet : http://kultur.zdf.de/

Et voilà… le site fait une nouvelle fois peau neuve. En espérant que ces changements vous plairont. En ce qui concerne l’actualité du groupe, Saxon travaille actuellement sur l’écriture de nouvelles chansons pour le prochain album. Le groupe est entré en studio en fin janvier et espère pouvoir commercialiser le disque pour l’automne 2012 où pour le début de l’année 2013.
Pour patienter, un coffret DVD/CD « Metal Thunder Live: Eagles Over Wacken » verra le jour le 20 avril prochain. Il se déclinera dans différentes versions :
Selon Classic Rock, le groupe s’apprêterait à publier un DVD regroupant plusieurs concerts (ou extraits) filmés au Wacken Open Air Festival. Le DVD aurait pour titre « Heavy Metal Thunder Live: Eagles Over Wacken ».
Saxon a travaillé sur un album acoustique mais sa commercialisation n’est pas encore à l’ordre du jour. Il sera peut être en bonus CD du prochain album studio …

« Saxon are to release a live DVD in early 2012.
It’s to be called Heavy Metal Thunder Live: Eagles Over Wacken, and will feature performances from the Wacken Festival.
“There are five in all, from 2002 to 2009,” says Biff Byford. “But we’ve not got all five shows, in their entirety, because even I would get bored watching that! The most interesting one is 2009, which was Wacken’s 20th anniversary and our 30th. We did a set that included songs from all of our studio albums, as voted for by the fans. And we did it with the most recent at the start working backwards to our debut album, Saxon, at the end.”
The band have also revealed to Classic Rock that they’ve been working on an unplugged album.
“What we’ve been doing aren’t necessarily the hits, but songs that sound good in an unplugged style. We will definitely be doing an album, although I don’t know how we’ll put this out. It may as a bonus CD with the next studio album.”
